Event Overview

Could you write the next Great American Novel? Do you want to establish yourself as a thought leader in your field? Whether you've got a story to tell or you want to promote your professional expertise, publishing your own book is an exciting and highly rewarding way to spread your message!

Self-publishing can be ridiculously expensive if you don't know what you're doing. I'll explain how to use Amazon's CreateSpace to get professional results for the lowest cost while getting your book into all major distribution channels.

In this seminar I'll cover:

---Why do you want to publish a book? Goals and expectations.
---What will cost money? How much?
---Writing a book. Do you have the basic skills? How to get the big job done on your own or with assistance.
---Working with an editor. Surviving the editing process!
---Book design & production and creating a cover
---Going digital with a Kindle edition
---Creating your own publishing company---For free!
---Using Amazon CreateSpace to produce your book
---Marketing and selling your book

There are a lot of considerations that can be unique to the kind of book you want to write and publish so this class will be taught as a seminar over three hours to allow for plenty of discussion and questions.

The venue is located just steps from the Davis L & Metra station in Evanston. Street parking and very inexpensive garage parking are plentiful in the area.
