Event Overview

In this hands-on class, the techniques for making and decorating boro marbles is covered. We start with a walk-through of the studio and equipment. Participants will start with clear work, focusing on shaping of marbles. Then we will cover surface decorations to continue skill building.
Students will leave with several marbles, and hopefully have fun showing them off to their friends.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

John Landin was originally introduced to lampwork while doing research for his chemistry degree. He loves the experimentation in both science, and art glass. His passion started in 2005 making soft glass beads, and has since grown to a love of marbles, pendants, and sculpture in boro. He is always thinking about glass, and working to take his skills and knowledge to the next level. In 2013, he founded a glass studio in Lincoln Square with his partner, Elektra Musich. Most nights and weekends you can find him there at the torch working on his newest ideas.
