Event Overview

Many gardeners have heard that healthy plants come from healthy soil, but what is healthy soil and how is it created? In this class we will look at how soil is formed- how texture and structure are created, and what impact they can have on plant health. We will also talk about creating and using compost to add plant nutrients, beneficial organisms, and explain just what organic matter really is and why it matters. Regardless of what type of soil you are starting with in your garden, you will leave with a better understanding of which tools, products and techniques to use to create a healthier environment for growing your organic garden.
