Event Overview

Storytelling is an important skill and instrument for entrepreneurs, as well crafted, well-told, and engaging stories help startups and brands differentiate themselves and gain momentum. Entrepreneurs need to rely on storytelling to master elevator or investor pitches, devise successful social media strategies, and create interesting but still optimized websites.

In this class, we will discuss the elements and types of compelling stories that can be used as powerful tools for promotion, persuasion, advocacy, inspiration, and leadership by entrepreneurs. This workshop will provide you some tools for verbal and visual storytelling and also help you hone your personal stories and build your storybanks.

We will have hands on storytelling activities, interactive games, and role playing to push you out of your comfort zones and help you think about your (a) your business/startup (b) your brand, and (c) you/your team in a novel and more creative way.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

I have deep and diverse expertise in transmedia, social media, consumer insights, storytelling, and media engagement. I wear several hats as a digital brand strategist, academic, professor, thought leader, mentor, and consultant. I have taught workshops and consulted various startups and entrepreneurs in several incubators and accelerators in Chicago and across the world.

Through these Marketuitive workshop series, I want to translate and adjust the basic marketing principles – devised with the bigger companies in mind – for the easy and efficient use of entrepreneurs who have less human, financial, and network resources. During these hands-on workshops, I focus on interactivity to create a guided brainstorming session where we learn as we do and do as we learn. And of course enjoy and have fun with the process!
