Event Overview

The perfect flaky crust. Filling without the soggy mess. A crumbly, hassle-free topping. Pie perfection is possible, but what do you do when you just want a single slice of pie on a Tuesday night? How do you eliminate the agonizing prep and multi-hour cooling times? Can you simplify pie without eating for two? You can, and it’s easier than you think.

This class teaches the fundamentals of making individual pies in jars. These little gems make the impossible possible: peach pie in January? No problem. Impromptu homemade picnic snack? You betcha. Pie for one? So much fun.

We’ll make a yummy, quickie butter crust without the rolling pin, cover the basics of fruit pie fillings with a few ingredients already in your cupboard, and finish it all off with a crunchy, crumbly topping. We’ll put our lunchbox-ready pies together and discuss the how-tos of stocking the freezer for future snack attacks.

Co-Teacher: Julie Keck. Julie is an independent filmmaker with a secret dream: to open a bakery. Yes, she's already designed the aprons she wants to wear; no, she doesn't know how to bake.
