Event Overview
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children presents Netsmartz. This presentation will provide everything you need to know about how to keep kids of all ages safer online from predatory offenders, cyberbullying, and reputational damage from online activities. This course is designed for parents, teachers and those who care for and care about the safety of children of all ages. Includes introduction to age appropriate presentations and talking points that can be used to educate others about how to keep kids safer online and in the real world.

Andrea Sparks is the Executive Director of the Texas Regional Office, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The Regional Office provides training, resources and assistance to law enforcement, educators and child caregivers to help protect and rescue children from abuse, exploitation and trafficking. Before joining NCMEC, Andrea was the Director of Public Affairs for Texas CASA, the statewide association of Court Appointed Special Advocate organizations that train and support volunteers to advocate for children in custody of Child Protective Services. Andrea has also practiced law, representing children and families in CPS, juvenile justice and adoption cases and worked as a staff attorney at the Texas Supreme Court.
Andrea is a founding board member of Strong Start, an organization that prevents child abuse and neglect by working with high risk children and their families. She is on the board of Lift Alliance (Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace) and active in National Charity League as the local CASA liaison. Andrea is married to Grant Sparks, an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District, and they have two children, Maddie 17 and J.T. 15, and two dogs, Red and Boomer.
